Hepa air cleaners -- both quiet and powerfulAugust 13, 2001
I asked Steve Hill with National Allergy Supply, an affiliate sponsor of AllergyNursing.com, to help me with this one and here is his reply: This question addresses one of the challenges of air cleaning. A particular air cleaner may have the best filter in the world but if you can't bring air to the unit for filtering there is really no measurable benefit. To properly circulate the air, you need an air cleaner that has a fairly strong motor and that usually results in background noise. Whirlpool has successfully addressed this issue designing an excellent air purifier in partnership with 3M for the filter technology. Whirlpool is so sure that they have the quietest air cleaner on the market that they have extended a 30-Day Quiet Guarantee that states, "If you find a quieter operating, high efficiency air purifier, simply call Whirlpool Corporation within 30 days for a full refund."
